Students at Western Albemarle High School are showing off their dance moves all weekend in their spring musical performance of "Footloose.”
The play tells the story of a boy from Chicago who moves to a small town, where he teaches everyone to dance. The students had to work overtime to put the show together, making up for several snow days so far this year.
Theater director Caitlin Pitts says the students really connect with the play on a personal level.
"They love to dance, and also this play has a message of the young people teaching something to the older people in their community and I think they really related to that,” Pitts said.
The play continues Saturday night starting at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday afternoon starting at 2 p.m. in the auditorium at Western Albemarle.
