With Albemarle County schools being closed 10 days so far this year due to winter weather, the school board has been looking at multiple options for making up all that missed class time.
Thursday night, the board agreed to keep in place the current policy, which adds five days to the school year. School now will end on Friday, June 13.
The school division also will consider applying to the state department of education for a waiver that, if granted, would end the school year on Wednesday, June 11.
The division received about 6,300 responses to a community survey about how to make up the time and the most favored response was to apply to the state for a waiver.
