The Virginia men's basketball team will play Florida State in the ACC Tournament quarterfinals Friday, after 9-seed FSU beat 8-seed Maryland 67-65 Thursday.
The top-seed Cavaliers have already beaten the Seminoles twice this season, winning 62-50 in Tallahassee, and 78-66 in Charlottesville.
Senior guard Ian Miller says, "In the beginning of the season we were real young, real young-minded, rather. We really didn't understand how to play against a defense, so it frustrated us, and we really forced a lot of things, and made a lot of turnovers. UVA, you know they're going to run the clock, but we've matured."
FSU senior guard Orako White adds, "They're a great defensive team, one of the best in the country. The biggest thing for me is they don't beat themselves, especially on offense, but we're going to fin a way to play with them and beat them."
Head coach Leonard Hamilton says, "Virginia is the #1 team in our league. To go through our league only losing two games is basically unheard of. It just shows a little bit about the maturity of that team, and how well they play together. I thought they might been the most unselfish team in America."
UVa and Florida State will tip-off Friday at noon in Greensboro, NC.
All of the ACC Tournament games can be seen on NBC 29.
