UPDATE: CAT’s Real-Time Info Working Again

Posted: Updated:

UPDATE: Charlottesville Area Transit Press Release - 11:29 a.m.

Charlottesville, Virginia -3/13/2014: Charlottesville Area Transit's real-time information has resumed its normal functionality. Passengers are now able to access real-time arrival information.

As stated in a previous release, the system went down due to last night's high winds. A disconnected line prevented data from being communicated between CAT's Automatic Vehicle Locator (AVL) radio tower and servers that provide the information to passengers. As a result, passengers were unable to obtain real-time arrival information. This affected CAT's mobile app, AVL telephone line (244-5180), and AVL's portion of CAT's website.

During the outage, CAT encouraged its passengers to utilize printed Rider's Guides, bus stop signage, and CAT's static online schedules.
