UVa head basketball coach Tony Bennett has been named the ACC Coach of the Year by the ACC media and the ACC coaches. He led the 'Hoos to a 25-6 record, 16-2 in the ACC and Virginia's first outright ACC regular season championship in 33 years.
Bennett says, "When you get an award like that and I know every coach says it... but its true, it's the job your players did because they did a heck of a job, its as much of a reflection of the players and the coaching staff and the year we had, so I certainly appreciate it."
UVa sophomore guard Justin Anderson says, "that's the reason why I came here, he's a great coach, he's helped change this program around immensely and I think there's more to come, so awesome coach and I'm so proud that he got that award."
