The UVa women's basketball team's season is over after a 77-76 loss to Georgia Tech in the ACC Tournament.   Virginia's record drops to 14-17.

Virginia had a chance to win in the final seconds but Ataira Franklin's off-balance shot at the buzzer was off the mark.

Virginia's Sarah Imovbioh had a career-high 27 points on 9-of-11 shooting in the loss.   Seniors Kelsey Wolfe and Ataira Franklin had 16 and 15 points respectively in what was their final game at Virginia.

UVa head coach Joanne Boyle said, "Just a great tournament game for both teams, obviously its really painful right now, a lot of credit to Georgia Tech but I couldn't be more proud of my team after this game."

Franklin said, "After it happens you think about all the things you could have done in those, one second at that point after I passed the ball in, it was just tough."

Imovbioh said, "I really wanted this win for our seniors, I wanted to advance and we were all looking forward to playing tomorrow."

Georgia Tech got a game-high 28 points from freshman Kaela Davis.

7-seed Georgia Tech advances to face 2-seed Duke on Friday.
