Police Investigate Two Bomb Threats at UVA

Police are investigating two bomb threats at the University of Virginia Wednesday.

The first bomb threat was called in just before 10:30 a.m. for the Barringer Wing of the West Complex at the University of Virginia Medical Center. The building was evacuated as police searched the area. There was no evidence of any explosive device found. The all-clear was given around 11:30 a.m.

According to Albemarle County Police, a second bomb threat was received for UVA offices at 415 Ray C. Hunt Drive at 11:26 a.m. Police say the threat was directed to a specific department. Officials evacuated the building and officers and K9 units searched the scene. No devices were found and the all-clear was given around 12:45 p.m.

Police say investigators are following up on suspect leads.
