Young Musicians Showcase Talents at Winner's Concert
First Presbyterian Church
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
Fifteen young musicians showcased their skills during the Wednesday Music Club's Winners Concert at First Presbyterian Church Sunday.
The students came out on top during the annual competition last week.
Sunday's performances featured instruments including violin, flute, piano, and harp.
Organizers have been fundraising for the awards throughout the year.
“We love to give it away today,” said club president Linda Smith. “It's just such a wonderful feeling to see these children who have worked so hard and parents who have been so diligent to get them to lessons and to arrange for them to have all the additional things that need to succeed.”
The music club is giving around $10,000 in scholarships this year.
