Charlottesville Salvation Army in Need of Clothing Donations
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
Charlottesville's Salvation Army's warehouse is running dry. The thrift store's clothing supply has dropped over the long, cold winter and it's in need of donations.
The warehouse, normally packed tight with clothes and furniture, is half empty. It doesn't matter what condition clothes are in, staff there say they need donations of any kind.
"It doesn't have to be perfect because we do have a bailing machine and any clothes that we don't and cannot sell we do go ahead and bail them and we sell our bails off and use that money to run our programs,” said Salvation Army store manager Lynda Weller.
Clothing can be dropped off at the store on Cherry Avenue. Staff is happy to come pick up furniture donations.
