Junior League of Charlottesville to Host Rummage Sale

Posted: Updated:

Shoppers will be able to find a bargain in Charlottesville and give back to the community at the same time Saturday. The Junior League of Charlottesville is hosting its first Dogwood Deals rummage sale at Portico Church in the IX building.

Members have a wide selection of items up for grabs, including clothing, furniture, and books. All proceeds will go directly to programs the league works with, such as Children, Youth and Family Services and the Boys & Girls Club.

“It's a great way for us to give back to the community as well as the community to give back to the community itself, so also it's about reusing the items that we have that you might no longer want, instead of throwing it out,” said Wendy Sewack, the event’s fundraising chair.

Doors will open at 7 a.m. From 7 a.m. to 9 a.m., entry will cost $5 and shoppers will get a tote bag. Then it's free, from 9 a.m. until the event ends at 3 p.m.
