FLUVANNA COUNTY, Va (WVIR) -

A former vice president of the Fluvanna Chamber of Commerce is locked up.

Brenda van Emmenis, who is better known by her maiden name, Brenda Rigsby, pleaded guilty Thursday to 13 counts of embezzlement and seven counts of money laundering.

The commonwealth says Emmenis wrote unauthorized checks to herself for more than a $1 million while working at National Filter Service.
