'Hoos Ranked 12th in AP Poll; 11th in Coaches Poll
The UVa men's basketball team is up two spots this week in the Associated Press Poll now ranked 12th. Virginia is ranked 11th in the USA Today Coaches Poll.
The Cavaliers have won 11 straight games and now have a record of 14-1 in the ACC. The 14 ACC wins sets a school record.
The 'Hoos have won 16 straight ACC games at John Paul Jones arena going back to last season and Virginia's next two games are at JPJ.
Virginia will host 4th ranked Syracuse on Saturday, which will go a long way towards determining who wins the ACC regular season championship. Syracuse has an ACC record of 13-2.
Coach Tony Bennett says he likes that his team is flying a bit under the national radar and says his team won't look past Wednesday's game against Miami.
"I think we're smart enough to realize how ready we have to be. So we have to bear as ready as we can, I think its foolish and I think our guys would be foolish even thinking past anybody. We've been in tight games and the majority of the game we've been down in the last handful of games."
Bennett adds, "Its about how you play, doesn't matter what the name is on your jersey, I don't get into that, its about the quality that we're playing. Very thankful to be in this spot at this time and I would've taken it if you had said it after the Tennessee game you're going to be at this spot, but not satisfied at all, you're in this opportunity lets try to be as ready as you can. Whether they talk about Virginia or not, I could care less, I just want to keep playing good ball and our guys understand that."
Virginia hosts Miami at 7pm Wednesday.
