Nearly 50 young musicians put their talents to the test in Charlottesville Sunday with a chance to win some big prizes and scholarships.
The Wednesday Music Club held its annual competition at First Presbyterian Church.
The event showcased a variety of instruments including the harp, cello, flute, and piano.
Organizers say they enjoy seeing the growth these students have made throughout the years.
“Over the years, we've had so many winners who then go on and become these incredible musicians and teachers, and they come back and they honor us by playing at a Wednesday morning program that we might have or a fundraising event,” said Linda Smith.
Eight musicians and teachers from around the area judged Sunday's event.
The top competitors will perform their pieces and receive awards in a winner's concert next week.
