A program at the University of Virginia is preparing veterans to transition back into civilian life.
The Darden School of Business is hosting the weekend-long Accelerated Master's Program in Systems Engineering.
Candidates with programming skills or a strong math background from the military are able to re-tool themselves in private sector business and systems engineering.
“I think the Systems Engineering Program here is one of the most applicable degrees, especially to big government, because as we expand it is extremely important to do that efficiently and effectively,” said Melinda Beyer who served in the Marine Corp.
The accelerated master’s program lasts one year and a military background is not required.
There will be an open class on March 8 for anyone interested in attending.
