Architect Bringing Worldly Influences to West Main Street

CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -

An architect working on the West Main Street design is bringing in influence from all over the world.

Architect Oliver Schulze has worked on designing complete street concepts in many cities. Friday night he spoke about streets from London to L.A. and how they can possibly be incorporated in Charlottesville.

Schulze says he hopes these ideas will help build a great West Main Street.

“We're working hard to try and come up with a balanced street that can accommodate all of these users and create a great place to create to have business and restaurants and cafes and all of those services,” Schulze said.

The first look at design options for West Main Street will be Saturday at 10 a.m. at the Carver Recreation Center.
