Albemarle Supervisor Wants Investigation into CATCO

Posted: Updated:

Albemarle County Supervisor Ken Boyd is now asking the State Board of Elections to investigate the group under scrutiny for running campaign ads last fall against the Route 29 Western Bypass.

Boyd wants the group to potentially fine the Charlottesville Albemarle Transportation Coalition for not following all the rules. Earlier this week, the county's commonwealth's attorney denied to prosecute the CATCO for its "Bypass Truth Coalition" ads.

Denise Lunsford said the group didn't file all the necessary paperwork, but didn't believe it was intentional and gave the group a chance to refile.
