Mike Papi hit a two-out grand slam in the second inning, and the #1 Virginia baseball team won 17-2 at William & Mary Wednesday night.

Papi went 2-for-4 with six RBI and two runs scored in the contest.

Brandon Downes and Joe McCarthy also homered for UVa (3-1)

The Wahoos scored six runs in the 2nd inning, and crossed the plate nine times in the 6th.

They had 19 hits in the game.

Artie Lewicki came on in relief of Nick Howard in the second inning, and got the win after he gave up two runs and four hits while striking out six in five innings.

Virginia will host East Carolina in a three game series beginning Friday.
