#1 UVa Baseball Wins 7-2 at UNC-Wilmington

The #1 UVa baseball team won 7-2 at UNC-Wilmington Sunday.

Sophomore Josh Sborz pitched shutout six innings, allowing no hits, while striking out four.

Junior outfielder Derek Fisher had two hits, two RBI, and two runs scored.

Freshman Matt Thaiss scored twice and went 2-for-5 at the plate.

The Cavaliers jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first inning.

They added two more runs in the 4th and one in the 6th on wild pitches.

Fisher and Kenny Towns drove in UVA's final two runs in the 7th inning to increase the lead to 7-0.

Virginia will begin a Ten-game homestand Tuesday against William & Mary.
