Charlottesville Albemarle Technical Education Center
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
A consulting team hired to develop a new strategic plan for the Charlottesville Albemarle Technical Education Center is seeking new ideas.
The Bridge LTD is hosting a second public meeting on the plan this Thursday.
The group will present a proposal to create five different institutes within CATEC.
Consultants say one important element of this project is collaboration between CATEC and Piedmont Virginia Community College.
“We have to get good community involvement,” said Bridge LTD CEO Grant Tate. “Fundamental to making these institutes work is going to be that we get good participation by employers and by the community to say this is how we're going to make this happen.”
The public meeting starts at 6 p.m. Thursday in the Albemarle County Office building. It's expected to last until 7:30.
