The #6 Virginia women's lacrosse team lost 16-12 against #9 Loyola Saturday at the University Hall Turf Field.

The game was moved to the blue turf due to snow at Klockner Stadium.

The Cavaliers (0-2) led the Greyhounds 5-3 at halftime, but got down by as many as seven goals in the second half.

Maddy Keeshan, Courtney Swan, and Casey Bocklet each scored three goals for UVa.

Head coach Julie Myers says, "Our schedule is tough, but still, we need to be winning these games, not coming up short.  We've got a lot of things to work on.  It's the flattest performance to date.  We hadn't practiced like that, so we didn't have a chance to iron out the wrinkles.  We will certainly address them today, and get ready for our Richmond game on Wednesday."

Virginia will host the Spiders Wednesday at 5 PM.
