Augusta Mourns Loss of Long-Standing Supervisor, Community Member
Augusta County is mourning the loss of a long-standing leader on the Board of Supervisors and a dedicated member of the community.
David Beyeler, who served on the board for a combined 26 years, passed away overnight after fighting numerous health issues. His colleagues say he was a proponent of education and bringing jobs to the Shenandoah Valley.
"His knowledge and experience were a treasure, and I'm really going to miss him. I think he was a real asset to the board,” said Augusta Supervisor David Karaffa.
The board has a goal setting session and regular meeting Wednesday afternoon. Members say the work will continue, but the mood will be somber.
Beyeler was 74 years old.
