The #17 Virginia men's basketball team won its 8th game in a row Monday night, as the Cavaliers beat rival Maryland 61-53.
The match was the Terps last visit to John Paul Jones Arena as a member of the ACC, as Maryland will join the Big Ten next year.
Wahoos fans serenaded the Terrapin players with chants of "ACC! ACC!" at the end of the game.
Senior guard Joe Harris led the Cavaliers (20-5, 11-1 ACC) with 19 points, including a trio of big three-pointers in the second half.
UVa head coach Tony Bennett says, "He understands he draws so much attention, so it helps other people get going, but then he has the ability to raise and elevate his game to hunt the shot to get things going. I think that's a rare player that can be that way."
Malcolm Brogdon had 14 points for the 'Hoos, while Akil Mitchell scored 13.
Virginia is off to its best start in conference play since the 1981-82 team opened 12-1.
The Cavaliers will hit the road this weekend to face Clemson at noon on Saturday.
