Virginia is one step closer to lifting restrictions on Sunday hunting.
The House of Delegates approved a measure last month to allow hunting on private property on Sundays, with the owner's permission. Now a similar bill sits in the hands of the state Senate.
Lawmakers shot down a proposal Friday to give localities individual discretion over Sunday hunting laws. The Senate will take a final vote next week.
Governor Terry McAuliffe says he will sign the bill when it reaches his desk.
