UVa Women's Basketball Loses at Boston College 69-65
The UVa women's basketball team let a 15 point second half lead slip away falling to Boston College 69-65 and dropping to 5-5 in the ACC.
Ataira Franklin led the 'Hoos with 15 points. Lexie Gerson had 14 points, six assists and five steals. Virginia led by 15 points with 11:05 remaining in the second half, but Boston College went on a 19-2 run to take the lead and held on for the victory.
"We need to figure out who we are on the road as this is the second game where we have had a lead and lost it," said Virginia head coach Joanne Boyle. "We didn't understand tonight that taking care of the little things and attention to detail is what is going to win you road games. The rebounding margin wasn't in our favor. If we had scrapped a little more, rebounded more, boxed out on the free throw line and gotten loose balls, the game would have been ours."
Virginia won't play again until next Thursday when the 'Hoos play at Georgia Tech.
