Malcolm Brogdon was three assists shy of a triple-double scoring 17 points, grabbing 11 rebounds and finishing with 7 assists leading Virginia to a 77-67 win Tuesday night over Boston College at JPJA.
It was Brogdon's first career double-double. Justin Anderson and Anthony Gill were the only other two Virginia players scoring in double figures, both finishing with 13 points.
Virginia led by as many as 21 points in the second half. BC cut the deficit down to six in the final minute, but the 'Hoos held on, winning their sixth straight game and improving to 9-1 in the ACC
Brogdon said, "I feel like we came out ready to play, and played pretty well, we didn't play our best basketball tonight but played well enough to win the game by a considerable amount if we hadn't let up in the end."
Gill said, "Just finish stronger, we did come out strong, there were times where they tried to spread the lead out and we tried to comeback again but there at the end we didn't finish well, if we're going to be a great team we're going to have to finish."
Virginia's next game is Saturday at Georgia Tech.
