Albemarle High School senior Ryan Londree signed a national letter of intent to play football at Old Dominion on National Signing Day Wednesday.

The 6-foot-3, 280-pound defensive lineman was rated a two-star prospect by 247sports.com.

Londree made the decision to play for the Monarchs last May, and says no decision has been made on whether he'll redshirt his freshman season.

"I would like to go out there and just play right away, but it would also be great to redshirt," says Londree.  "It would give me another year to get better and stronger, and get ready for that lifestyle."

ODU will play its first season as a Division I FBS-level program in the fall.

"It feels great," says Londree.  "It's a blessing to know I'm going to play Division I football, and plus get a great education.  I'm just thankful."
