A nonprofit group that promotes entrepreneurship in Charlottesville launched its new online publication Monday.
HackCville is a so-called “clubhouse” for entrepreneurs and creators based in a space along the University of Virginia corner. Now the student group has created HackCville Media to showcase different sides of the community, including the music and art scene.
“Our ultimate goal really is to brand Charlottesville, to make this known as a place where - whether it's new businesses or new ideas or ventures - this is a place where these things start and this is a place where these things can grow and have broader impacts,” said Daniel Willson, HackCville Media director.
The first edition of HackCville Media features an exclusive interview with Reddit co-founder Alexis Ohanian.
The publication is currently run by a staff of 14 students.
