CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va. (WVIR) -
The Virginia Women's Chorus at the University of Virginia is celebrating its 40th anniversary.
The group sang the National Anthem at Sunday's women's basketball game.
The chorus was the first all-female chorus at UVA.
Sunday's performance follows the group's singing of the National Anthem for the most recent men's home basketball game.
“Being a part of the Virginia Women's Chorus, which is the first all-female choral group on grounds, it's been a really big part of my college career,” said chorus president Maya Sadagopal. “I'm really excited to be able to showcase that in things like this.”
The women have their next concert performance on March 29.
