This weekend's break from all the winter weather is keeping car wash businesses busy in central Virginia and the valley.
Express Car Wash in Albemarle County has served lines of cars needing a quick rinse over the past couple days.
General Manager Johnny Wallace says the car wash is seeing top numbers in terms of revenue.
AAA advises drivers to thoroughly wash salt, brine, and sand off their cars to protect the paint.
“The salt and the chemicals they put on the roads these days can be very damaging to the paint and the underside of your vehicle,” Wallace said. “It's very important to get it washed off as well as getting the underside of the vehicle washed.”
AAA recommends washing every inch of the car after a winter storm to avoid damage and rust. That includes the under-body, rear bumper, and inside each wheel.
