Charlottesville City Council and school board meet Tuesday to review school funding recommendations from a community panel.
The Blue Ribbon Commission on Sustainable School Funding has released its report after five months of work. It estimates the schools will face a $2 million to $4 million funding gap each year.
The report makes short- and long-term recommendations to fill the shortfall, including increasing meals and lodging taxes and possibly closing an elementary school.
Council and the board will hold a joint work session to discuss the report Tuesday at 4 p.m. in the CATEC auditorium.
