UVa led by as many as 11 points in the first half, and trailed by 14 early in the 2nd half, before coming back to take the lead.
Former St. Anne's-Belfield star Sarah Imovbioh scored 21 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, including 10 offensive rebounds.
Ataira Franklin had 19 points, while Kelsey Wolfe added 18.
Virginia returns to action Thursday at Wake Forest.
