CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
The Piedmont Virginia group of the Sierra Club hosted a pancake breakfast on Saturday morning.
Several people weathered the cold for the hot meal at the Vinegar Hill Cafe.
The money raised from the breakfast will benefit the club's environmental causes.
“We are involved in water planning,” said Sierra Club treasurer Wren Oliver. “We are involved in environmental protection issues related to the 29 western bypass, anything that is related to protection and conservation issues.”
The Piedmont group has about 1,100 members and has meetings every other month.
In February, club members will move from flipping flapjacks to handing out pine trees during an event called Kidsvention.
