Staunton Man Enters Alford Plea on Sexual Abuse Charges

Posted: Updated:

After trying to take his own life in jail this weekend, Daniel K. Folk, V entered an Alford plea to a series of brutal sexual abuse charges in Augusta County.  That means he will be sentenced as if he pleaded guilty, but does not admit he committed the crimes.

Through tears and emotional apologies, the 43-year-old pleaded no contest on charges of aggravated sexual battery, forcible sodomy, and object sexual penetration in court Thursday.

The female victim was 8 years old when the alleged abuse took place.

Folk is scheduled to appear in court on April 17 at 2:30 p.m.
