AUGUSTA COUNTY, Va (WVIR) - An Augusta County man is recovering in the hospital after he was stabbed six times Sunday morning.

The stabbing happened at the Knox Mobile Home Park near Fishersville.

The sheriff's office isn't releasing the condition of the victim who was stabbed, but investigators say he is at Augusta Health.

This started around 11:00 Sunday morning at the mobile home community on Kitty Point Drive.

Deputies arrested Kevin Clark of Augusta County.

He is being charged with one count of malicious wounding.

Investigators say Clark and the victim knew each other but this was not a domestic incident.

The victim was stabbed six times total, including in his head and chest.

"The officers once on scene were able to determine a suspect and that person was taken into custody without incident,” says investigator Michael Roane of the Augusta County Sheriff’s Office. “The victim was treated at the scene and then transferred to Augusta Health Hospital."

The sheriff's office says evidence was collected from the scene.

They aren't releasing a motive for the stabbing.

Kevin Clark is being held at Middle River Regional Jail without bond.
