AG Urges VA Residents to Monitor Credit after Target Shopping

Posted: Updated:

Attorney General Mark Herring is urging Virginia residents who shopped at Target stores or on the company's website to take advantage of the free year of credit monitoring offered by the company.

Target is offering the free monitoring after the security breach last month that compromised payment information for approximately 40 million customers across the country.

Target has 57 retail stores in Virginia.

Herring is also asking consumers to change their pin numbers and passwords if they haven't already.
