Albemarle Police Investigate JABA Break-In

Tuesday, police are trying to figure out who broke into the Jefferson Area Board for Aging offices in Albemarle County. Police say the break-in happened Monday night.

Detectives spent Tuesday morning collecting evidence and checking for video surveillance. We do not know what, if anything, was stolen.

Police say they do not have a suspect description at this time. If you know anything about the break-in, call Crime Stoppers at 434-977-4000.

Officers and detectives with the Albemarle County Police Department are investigating a breaking and entering at the JABA building on Hillsdale Drive. The building was broken into sometime overnight and reported to the ACPD around 6:30 a.m. on Tuesday.

Forced entry was gained into the building which houses several different businesses or offices. At this time, detectives are collecting evidence and processing the large crime scene. They are working with the building administrators and trying to determine exactly what was taken from the building. If video surveillance is available, that will be used as evidence in the investigation.

At this early stage in the investigation, that is all the information available. We do not have a suspect or suspects description at this time. We will continue to update the community and ask for anyone with any information to call Crimestoppers at 434-977-4000.
