A central Virginia animal lover has taken her kinship with dogs to a new level by writing a book.
In "Ganny's Journal", Beattejeanne Hammond tells the story of six canine buddies as they strive to thrive in the human world.
“By going along with the pack members and with their alternately humorous and poignant adventures, one can really begin to see capacities that animals have, the silent capacities that they have to navigate a human world,” Hammond says.
Hammond drew inspiration for the book from her childhood dog that she says rescued her.
