Dancers Donate Long Locks for Good Cause

Posted: Updated:
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) - Two 9-year-old ballet dancers from the Charlottesville Performing Arts School traded their longer locks for bob cuts for a good cause.

The girls got their hair chopped off Sunday, each losing eight inches of flowing tresses.

The hair is being donated to Pantene Beautiful Lengths to be woven into wigs for cancer patients who are undergoing chemotherapy.

“I donated over eight inches and this is my third time,” says Corinne Moore.

“The most exciting part was getting to help people when they had cancer,” Makayla Fletcher says. “After you donate it, it makes them feel good about themselves.”

Together both girls have donated 48 inches of hair over the years.

The young dancers say as soon as they can grow their hair out again, they will donate even more.
