Burkholder Sets Career High in JMU's CAA Opening Win over Delaware
Kirby Burkholder scored 33 points against Delaware
Former Turner Ashby star Kirby Burkholder scored a career high 33 points to lift the James Madison women's basketball team to an 87-51 win over Delaware in their Colonial Athletic Association opener at the JMU Convocation Center Sunday.
The Dukes outscored the Blue Hens 60-27 in the second half, including shooting 62.5 percent from the field.
In the past four contests with Delaware, JMU has prevailed three times.
The Dukes are now 11-4 on the season and 1-0 in the CAA.
The game also snapped Delaware's 44-game conference winning streak.
JMU continues CAA action this Thursday on the road at Towson at 7 PM.
