CHS Students Prepare for Zero Robotics Competition
CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) -
A group of Charlottesville High School students are on their way to MIT to compete in a high-level robotics competition.
BACON, or the Best All-around Club of Nerds, will take part in the Zero Robotics competition next week in Boston. The students will be programming actual robotic satellites on the International Space Station. They will also get a chance to Skype with astronauts during the competition.
"Just the idea that the code that we have could be run on something as big as the International Space Station, I mean that's just not something you think of really that's possible and it's an incredible experience,” said Nathan Shuster, a member of the team.
The group of students will leave for Boston next Thursday.
