The UVa men's basketball is 2-0 for the first time in four years after a dominating 74-51 win over Wake Forest Wednesday night at JPJA.
The 'Hoos scored the first 11 points of the game and never trailed. Joe Harris had 9 of his 11 points in the first half hitting three 3-pointers. Virginia shot 50 percent from the field. Malcolm Brogdon had a game-high 14 points.
Brogdon said, "I felt like I needed to be aggressive, I think as a team we needed to be aggressive and take it back at them. I feel like we all played well together and we were very unselfish tonight."
Anthony Gill said, "I think we really bought in defensively tonight that's what coach pushes to us and we really want to make him happy and we know that that's the only we will win is if we lock up on defense."
Coach Tony Bennett said, "They had some careless turnovers early, Wake Forest did, which helped us but, we were in the right spots and made them take the contested shots and we ran our offense hard and got some easy looks and made some threes, but there was purpose with our offense with a little bit of discipline."
Virginia's next game is Saturday at NC State.
