Traffic Stop Leads to Marijuana Charges in Greene

Blue Ridge Narcotics and Gang Task Force in conjunction with Greene County Sheriff’s Office and Virginia State Police on Saturday 1/4/14 conducted a traffic stop on South River Road along with a search warrant at 2567 Red Bird Drive in Stanardsville, VA. These events resulted in the arrest of Mark Damon Jones who is a 36-year-old Greene County resident.

Mr. Jones was charged with Possession with the intent to distribute more than 5 pounds of marijuana, Possession/Transport of a firearm after being convicted of a felony.

He was initially held without bond and this continues to be an ongoing investigation. No further comment at this time.

The following items were seized:

 - 8 pounds of marijuana
 - $25,000.00
 - Toyota Land Cruiser
 - Winchester Rifle
