Cville Police Offer Reward for Information about Assault, Robbery

Charlottesville Police are offering a reward of $2000 for information leading to the arrest of the persons responsible for the brutal attack and robbery of an area woman on New Year's Eve at approximately 11:55 p.m. near the Transit Center on E. Water St.

The victim, a 25-year-old white female, had just exited a taxi in front of the Transit Center and was walking around the west side of the center headed toward the downtown mall, when she was attacked by two or more black males.

The victim was knocked to the ground and her purse taken from her. The suspects then fled west on Water St. when a city of Charlottesville Fire Department truck stopped to assist the victim.
