A judge delayed sentencing for a Charlottesville man convicted of rape by granting a continuance Tuesday.
Police arrested Manneh Vay, 20, in October of 2012 on a rape charge after reports of him dragging a young girl into a bathroom at a party on Wertland Street and sexually assaulting her. In October of last year, a jury found him guilty of rape.
A new defense attorney was assigned to the case in November and asked the court for more time to prepare.
Vay is now set to be sentenced January 21. He could face 30 years in prison.
