This 1 1/2-hour public meeting is an opportunity for you to explore the future of the Charlottesville Albemarle Technical Education Center, popularly known as CATEC.
CATEC is currently a regional technical education center, serving students in central Virginia, jointly operated by Albemarle County Public Schools and Charlottesville City Public Schools. As we look toward to the next 3, 5, 25 years, our students, neighbors, businesses and universities will have needs that we must be prepared to support. During this meeting you will find out what the team, comprised of Patty Culotta, Tom Smith, Grant Tate, Jennifer Till and Kevin Willis, has learned through conducting extensive research as well as a series of in-depth interviews with students, community, business, and educational leaders in the Charlottesville area. A proposed best case CATEC school model will be presented with an interactive exercise for your input.
