Orange Police Department to Receive New Cruisers

Posted: Updated:
ORANGE COUNTY, Va (WVIR) - The Town of Orange Police Department has two new, fully equipped cruisers on the way.

Police Chief James Fenwick says the new cars, which each have a $ 30,000 price tag, didn't cost taxpayers a dime.

The Police Department was awarded a grant to buy the new fleet.

“It's a significant savings,” Fenwick says. “This puts our fleet our police fleet in really good condition for the next few years so we are able to focus on other projects that we need at the department.”

The grant will also provide the department with a new up-to-date phone system.

The state grant comes from money that was seized from drug dealers.
