CHARLOTTESVILLE, Va (WVIR) - A driver arrested after a traffic stop last week in Charlottesville ending with officers drawing their guns is facing new charges.

Police say 35-year-old Paul Cobbs refused to pull his car over on Fifth Street on the night of December 27.

That led to a short pursuit and a confrontation where officers drew their weapons.

Cobbs was charged with possession of marijuana following his arrest.

He now also faces counts of eluding police, obstruction of justice, and failure to obey two traffic signals.

Cobbs is due in Charlottesville General District Court February 21.
