The Virginia men's basketball team won a game in the state of Florida for the first time since 2001, as UVa topped Florida State 62-50 in its ACC opener Saturday in Tallahassee.
The Cavaliers (10-4, 1-0 ACC) led by as many as 22 points in the 2nd half, and improve to 5-0 in conference openers under head coach Tony Bennett.
The 'Hoos played most of the game without Joe Harris, as the senior guard left the game with an injury at the 17:37 mark of the first half and did not return.
Sophomore Justin Anderson scored 16 points, and led Virginia in scoring for the 4th straight game.
Freshman London Perrantes scored a career-high 14 points, while senior Akil Mitchell had 11 points and 13 rebounds.
