Zeus Theater Looks to Expand, Add Dining Experience

The classic date night of dinner and a movie will be hopefully a lot easier in Waynesboro.
Brett Hayes, owner of the Zeus Theater, isn't saying a lot about plans to open a restaurant on theater property - but he will say that he hopes to bring something completely fresh to the table.
The theater has been open for three years, and Hayes says it's time to expand. Hayes is collaborating with a company in Verona to complete the work, and he says the restaurant would serve about 100 people. He envisions customers will easily be able to go back and forth from the restaurant to the theater with a pathway. Hayes won't give away the theme of the eatery just yet, but he says it will not be a chain restaurant.
"You'll see stuff happening, and we'll announce what type of restaurant it's going to be and the theme and everything as we get a little bit closer. But it's kind of good to have a little bit of a teaser at this point," said Hayes.
He would like to break ground in May and open the new place by November.
Hayes emphasized that his ideas are still developing, but he anticipates that after the restaurant is finished, the section of the city will eventually have a cluster of more restaurants to service Waynesboro customers and tourists.
