A week from Saturday, some big changes are coming to the state capitol. Crews are putting on the finishing touches, as Governor-elect Terry McAuliffe prepares for his inauguration January 11.

The team behind the inauguration, co-chaired by Richmond Mayor Dwight Jones, is planning a series of events with the goal of bringing Virginians of different backgrounds together.

"The inauguration of Terry McAuliffe sets a very specific tone for the next four years, and that tone is a tone of inclusion, a tone of tolerance, a tone of cooperation, and a tone of finding common ground on issues that matter to us all," said Jones.

A week of inauguration activities will begin Saturday with a statewide day of service.
